Acorn Sheepskin Slippers : Conserve Your Heat
Long before concern about global climate change became fashionable, my father kept the heat at a "reasonable" level during the Minnesota winters of my childhood. Of course, like beauty, reason is in the eye of the beholder...or rather in the feet of the person walking through a cold house on a January morning before the wood-burning stove has kicked in. If only we had had Acorn's Sheepskin Booties, those five degrees Fahrenheit that define the difference between responsible stewardship of our resources and bone-chilling, strife-inducing thermostat battles would have been moot. Being my father's son, I have carried on the tradition of keeping the temperature low in the house, but I now have the advantage the warmest slippers I've ever owned. From the moment I slipped my feet into these super cozy booties, which are fully lined in genuine, luxurious, plush, cushy, hypo-allergenic sheepskin, I knew that it would be hard to take them off. Lucky for me, I don't have to because the outsoles are designed for indoor and outdoor wear. When I need to dash in and out of the house to help bring the groceries in it's no problem. And if you live in, say, Seattle as opposed to Minneapolis, you can also treat them for water- resistance because they're made out of all natural leather. Besides the warmth and the moisture-wicking properties of the sheepskin, which I must say eliminate the need for socks, Acorn's Sheepskin Bootie is also really well padded with a memory foam midsole over a layer of featherweight EVA. It's soft without being squishy or losing it's cushion over time. These boots are so comfortable that even when it isn't really all that cold in the house, I find myself slipping out of my shoes and into my Sheepskin Booties as soon as I walk in the door. And these days, I almost look forward to waking up in the middle of the night when the heat has been off for hours and shuffling over the bathroom's frigid tile floor, now that my Acorns await me at my bedside with a furry embrace. Bottom LIne: Wearing these super cozy, moisture-wicking, sheepskin-lined slippers is like getting a warm, fuzzy hug for your feet. No more cold toes in the winter. --B.S. (Feb.
