Asics Reflect Singlet : Wear Your Night Light

All runners know how hard it is to fit in a run before and after work. While Daylight Savings Time has helped open that window of time a little farther, running in the early morning hours or at dusk can be a little risky. Many running apparel companies are making it easier, though, by designing reflective clothing that helps runners stay visible during those twilight hours.

I run mostly in the morning, when traffic in my neighborhood is at its worst. My normal route crosses some fairly busy streets and so before I head out the door at this time of day, I make sure that I am either wearing bright colors or a jacket with reflective strips.

I was a little skeptical about how well I would be seen when I ran out the door in my new light blue Asics Reflect™ singlet because I couldn't see any reflective areas on the top. In fact, the top comes in very light colors such as white and light blue. Luckily, I was wrong. The singlet didn't need reflective strips because the entire garment is made out of reflective material.

The fabric practically shimmers; silver squiggles on either shoulder make it appear even brighter to drivers in passing cars. This hybrid tank helps me stay visible in the dark and protects me from UV rays once the sun comes out. It's incredibly light and is quick to wick away sweat. And its mesh side panels keep me well-ventilated and cool at any time of day.

This top runs a little big. If you oscillate between a small and medium or medium and large, opt for the smaller size.
