Asolo Atom and Xenon Hiking Shoes : The One Shoe
My biggest packing dilemma is always about shoes. How many pairs to take? What will I be doing on vacation? What if I want to hike....or visit a museum....or go out for dinner? And how can I possibly fit more than one pair in my suitcase? Now that I have the Asolo Atom, my footwear problems are over. They're a perfect hybrid of all of my favorite shoes. They've got the light weight and flexibility of an athletic shoe, the breathability and neutral design of a casual leather shoe (they're suede with plenty of mesh air holes), and have a Vibram sole with the tread and traction of a hiking boot (they're also excellent on wet surfaces). I wear these shoes every day, and I've been very impressed with how stable they are for a lightweight shoe (I normally prefer a big, clunky, extra thick soled shoe). I love the fact that they go great with 3/4 length pants, shorts, and even skirts. Wearing hiking boots around town or with clothes other than hiking gear just doesn't look very good and it makes me feel like a lumberjack. Bottom Line: The Atoms give me the option of traveling light and feeling fashionable. (Note: the Atoms are men's shoes; I have extra large feet. This same shoe is available in women's sizes under the name Xenon.)--E .D. (Mar '04) Price: $95.00 Manufacturer's Site: www.asolo.com |
