Ecco Fusion Bicycle Toe Tie Shoe : All Purpose Comfort and Style

My day job as an event photographer has me on my feet nonstop for eight to 12 hours a day, so finding a pair of shoes that can keep me comfy for that long has been a challenge.

Every single pair of shoes I've tried, from brand names to cheap generics, have failed miserably. Some get me through two hours until my feet start to ache; some get me to about six hours. But not one pair has kept me pain free for an entire nonstop day.

I recently had a chance to try out my first pair of Ecco shoes, which everyone had been recommending to me. Ever since I found the Ecco Fusion Bicycle Toe Tie shoe, which has a nice all-purpose dressy casual style to it, I haven't looked back. I spend my days kneeling, running, and jumping around to capture peak action, and these shoes fit the bill admirably. 

My feet are pretty average in shape, and Fusion shoes fit well. The arch isn't too high or too low, and despite their relatively svelte weight, they offer great support and comfort. What really got me about other shoes was that my forefoot would start to hurt before my heel -- but the Fusion Bicycle Toe Tie has ample support throughout the entire footbed and kept both parts of my feet happy for long times at a stretch.

As far as the style goes, these Ecco shoes are winners. I've worn them everywhere from wedding receptions, to professional meetings, to bars with friends. They've got the perfect go-everywhere, do-anything look. I love the fit and finish, too -- they scream quality. The contrast stitching is burly and durable, and the leather is soft, supple, and supremely comfortable. What's more, the insole has a anti-bacterial treatment so the shoes don't stink up after long days. This wouldn't be such a big deal if I were wearing them to a desk job, but running around for 12 straight hours tends to make my feet smelly.

Bottom Line: The most comfortable casual dress shoe I've ever worn, hands down. (NW, Feb '09)
