Ecco Virpir II Lo GTX Trail Shoe : Walk A Mile (or more) in These Shoes

As an all-purpose outdoor shoe, Ecco's Virpir shoe has been a great fit for me.

Wide enough for my big feet and stable enough to handle the bumpy trails near my home, my Virpir shoes have become my daily walking shoes.

Made out of nubuck leather and nylon uppers, with a firm but still flexible lugged sole, the Virpir shoes provide great traction. I also like the GoreTex lining, which keeps my feet dry on wet days.

Despite the fact that they felt like running shoes when I first put them on, I did need some break-in time with my Virpir trail shoes. Initially, the metal lace hoops at the tops of each shoe dug into the tops of my feet. Thicker socks and loosening my laces seemed to solve this problem.

Bottom Line: A good all-around outdoor shoe that will take you around town and along many trails--no matter what the weather. Available in men's and women's sizes.--E. D. (July '06)
