EMS Thunderhead Pants : Bring on the Rain

I don't care if I made a swishing sound when I walk; I love wearing rain pants. There's just something wonderful about going out for a walk in the pouring rain, and coming home completely dry.

Paired with my EMS Downpour jacket, my EMS Thunderhead pants give me full body protection from wind and rain. Made out lightweight, weatherproof fabric, and articulated through the knees, my EMS pants provide the protection and breathability I need with the added bonus of freedom of movement.

Of course, the full-length zips on the sides of these elastic waistband pants are waterproofed, too. They also have snap-closure tabs at the hem and waistband so nothing gets caught on the zipper heads. I like the large flat zippered pocket on the front of the right thigh for maps and other small, flat items. For a secure fit, I can attach straps to the strap holders inside of each pant leg.

This fall I've been wearing these pants over a pair of gym shorts. When the snow finally arrives, I look forward to pairing them up with my Smartwool lightweight tights for hiking and snowshoeing.

Bottom Line: Don't ever let rain keep you inside again. Having these pants has kept me more active during the rainy season because I'm so much more comfortable during my hikes and walks.--E.D. (Nov. '05)

The first flashlight was invented in 1898. Joshua Lionel Cohen, original owner of the Eveready company developed the concept of using a battery to run a light bulb, which he shared with an Eveready salesman, Conrad Hubert. Hubert then turned the idea into a flashlight.
