Jo-Sha Wipes : Keep Your Yoga Mat Clean
It occurred to me at my last yoga retreat that I might benefit from cleaning my mat, but I didn't want to use a cleanser containing harsh chemicals...(more... )

Helly Hansen Hybrid Baselayers : Stay Warm, Stay Dry

What do you get when you cross wool and polypropelyne? A very warm baselayer that insulates, breathes well, and feels good against your skin.

I've been wearing my Helly Hansen Lifa Prowool Hybrid Zip Turtleneck and Pant since the first fall chill. Initially, I wore the top under a windbreaker, and the pants alone. A perfect combination for hiking and fast walking in 40 degree temps. Now that the temps have dropped down to the mid-30s, I thought I might need another layer on my legs, but no, the Lifa Prowool pants (tights) still keep my legs warm.

The Lifa Prowool Zip Turtleneck (which isn't really a turtleneck, but a half-zip with a mock turtleneck), does a good job of wicking and breathing. It's also an attractive addition to my collection of "outdoor wear that can double as casual or street wear." I like that I can wear this quick-drying top for low- to moderate-level activity, and come home with a dry top. It resists odor better than my other technical fiber tops.

Both pants and top are a perfect fit. At 5'11" I have a hard time finding clothes that fit, but these items seem to be made with a women's body in mind (not a teenager's). The torso and sleeves are long enough to give me full coverage, and when zipped up, the collar becomes a snug neck warmer. I also appreciate the wide waistband on the pants.

Note: these items run small, so buy one size larger than you usually do.

Bottom LIne:  Very functional, very comfortable. And ready for winter's coldest temps. Available in men's and women's sizes.--(E.D. Dec '05)
