Hot Chillys Pepper Skin Pant : Hot Pants for Cold Days
It had been a crisp clear morning of gliding along snowed over logging roads. A couple hours into the day we came to a long climb up to the pass. About halfway up the climb I suddenly became aware that I wasn't wet from sweating. I was wearing my new Hot Chillys Pepper Skins, and I was glad. My heart rate was up. I was sweating. I had switched from my beanie to earmuffs. I was gaining elevation at a good clip. Normally in this circumstance I expect to be somewhat wet from perspiration, but today I was moving along in relative dryness. The polyester MTF ("moisture transport fiber") was wicking moisture away from my skin at an impressive rate. My Pepper Skins were doing exactly what every piece of gear should do... make the day better. After a brief break at the pass, my Pepper Skins had dried completely, freeing me to focus on the thrill of the ride down rather than the chill of the breeze. Performance aside, one thing that I really like about Hot Chillys products in general is that many of their garments are offered in fun prints, as well as in a variety of solid colors. A nice change from my often-monochromatic outdoor wardrobe. Bottom LIne: Excellent wicking ability and available in fun prints. --A.S. (Dec '07) Price: $30 Buy Online:
