Hot Chillys Pepper Skins Top : Dry on the Fly
My new Hot Chillys Pepper Skins proved to be quite an asset this past weekend. I headed up to the North Cascades for a day of cross-country skiing. The weather was beautifully crystal clear, but there was a chill in the breeze that cut to the bone. Had I been doing something less active, I would have just put on a wind proof jacket. I was working up quite a sweat though, and the combination of cold and wet needed a more dynamic solution to ward off discomfort and hypothermia. My Pepper Skins were that solution. The polyester MTF ("moisture transport fiber") micro fiber did an excellent job of moving moisture away from my skin. I stayed dry and warm despite my level of activity and the near freezing temperatures. I was also impressed by how quickly the garment dried when I stopped. After only a brief rest at the day's destination my Pepper Skins were completely dry for the descent. On the style side of things, Hot Chillys offers many of their products in prints as well as solid colors. My Pepper skins are brown and black tweed. When I tried them on my wife laughed... in a good way... I think. They're a fun upgrade from my previous all black long underwear. Available in crew neck, turtleneck, and half-zip styles for men and women. Bottom LIne: Excellent wicking ability and eye-catching designs. --A.S. (Dec '07) Price: $30 BUY ONLINE :
