Hugger Mugger Tola Mat : Hot Yoga

I've been practicing Bikram, or, "hot yoga," as I've heard it called, for several years. I like the dynamic pace; I get a great workout. The only problem is my yoga mat. A regular sticky mat isn't appropriate because I sweat so much, so I always have to bring an extra towel to place over my mat. Initially, that worked for me until I realized that sometimes the towel bunches up and impacts my ability to balance. My solution: a Hugger Mugger Tola mat specifically designed for hot yoga. Soft and absorbent on the top (it feels like a rug made out of fluffy towels), with rubber backing, this mat stays in place when I move. Now I only have to carry one item to class.

I like that I can just throw this mat in the wash (which I had to do the first day I bought it because my cat peed on it!), and it comes out just as fluffy.

Bottom Line: If you're going to spend the time and money on hot yoga classes, it's worth it to have the gear that will help you move safely and stay comfortable.--S.P. (Feb '05)
