Keen Montreux Boot : Looks Like a Boot, Feels Like a Cloud

I’m not a pump gal, never have been, never will be. I prefer comfortable shoes, but they have to be cute, too. Lucky for me, I recently discovered Keen shoes, and in particular, their Montreux boots for women.

Made out of smooth, suede-y, garnet red leather uppers and a durable rubber outsoles, these boots are super-comfy from the first moment I slip them on in the morning until I pull them just before dropping into bed after a long day.

Keen's Montreux boots are the perfect combination of style and function. They're super lightweight, but there's nothing flimsy about them. I feel like I'm walking on little clouds when I wear them. And the color! I've always wanted a pair of red boots. (They're available in five colors.)

My Keens have become my every day, every ocassion boots. I wear them to work (I'm a television producer--on my feet a lot), chasing my three year old around the playground, running from Home Depot to Target to Trader Joe’s on weekends, picking up take-out, going to movies, and even renovating my house. l live in these boots.

Unlike too many boring and thin-soled slip-ons I've worn in the past, my Montreux boots are sturdy enough to keep my feet happy during long urban explorations. London, Paris, Hong Kong, here I come. Next time my husband and I go on vacation, I don't have to pack three or four different shoes. My multi-purpose Montreux boots are sweet with jeans or casual pants (and accetable at most restaurants).

Another bonus: they're waterproof. The third day I wore them, it rained. Hard. I panicked--what if I ruin my adorable new boots? What if they get all spotty and icky looking? It would just be too tragic. But, of course, the weatherproof leather held up to the elements just fine. These boots are work horses disguised as sleek thoroughbreds.

They have a well-cushioned, removable footbed, and a small rubber bumper that provides excellent protection for my toes (and prevents the leather from scuff marks)--fantastic for a klutz like me. My Montreux boots are also breathable, so my feet stay warm and dry, but never get hot and sweaty.

Bottom Line: One of the best things about my new boots --people always notice them. I wore them to a party last weekend, and half the women there asked me where I got them. Sweet.
