Keen Shellrock WP Shoe : A Leaner Look

It's a good thing Keen's Shellrock shoe is available in men's and women's sizes. I'd hate for anyone to miss out on my new favorite trail footwear.
Style-wise, this lightweight shoe tops all previous Keens. It's sleeker, slimmer, simpler, and still offers a wide, round toe box, good traction on all terrains, and a stable, shanked sole to keep my feet happy for hours of walking.
At first glance I was sure that the lean looking shellrock would lack the firm, thick sole I love, but I was wrong. I still get plenty of dense padding between my feet and the ground. The heel support, arch support, and shank all keep the forefoot of the shoe nice and firm, which is exactly what I need in an exercise and trail shoe.
The Shellrock is a more low volume shoe than other Keen styles I wear, and it runs a bit small. I always wear a men's size 9, and in this shoe, I needed a size 9.5.
Also love the tough waterproof material and rubber-like web encasing it. If I look closely, I can see a half-centimeter of this encasing wrapping around the bottom of the material where the midsole meets the upper - extra waterproof protection. It's always raining here in Seattle, so it's nice to have footwear that keeps my feet dry even when I tramp trough puddles.
Most of all, I love the street style of this trail shoe. I tested a pair of men's in black - they look very cool. Like a cross between a casual shoe and an athletic shoe. Awesome for power walking, trail hiking, and still looks fashionable with jeans. My kind of footwear.
