Mountain Hardwear Carve Pant : Ski Slacks for Super Slopes
Mountain Hardwear's Carve pants are perfect for both back country adventures and lift-served skiing. They're silky smooth on the inside, breathable and waterproof on the outside. The stretchy GoreTex soft shell material, articulated knees, and gusseted inseam all allow me fantastic ease of movement when I'm kicking and gliding through a wintry scene. Despite their softness, my Carve pants are bulletproof. On a recent outing, I had to wade through hip-deep seas of tangled, fabric-snagging shrubbery. My Carve pants emerged without a scratch, however, and showed no sign of abrasion after the battle with the bushes. Another durable feature I appreciate: the reinforced areas on the inner pant legs that keep my ski edges from slicing through my pants. Powder cuffs underneath keep my ankles dry. The Carve pants have super-long side zippers that extend from the cuff to the upper thigh for maximum ventilation during sweaty back country climbs. As an added bonus, they're waterproofed, so my legs stay dry. My favorite feature, though, is the discreet, adjustable cord built into the waistband that prevents snow-scooping waistline gaps--and helps me achieve a flattering, customizable fit. The Carves is a women's pant. Men can find similar features in Mountain Hardwear's GoreTex soft shell Maneuver Pant. Click here to read about the women's Carve Jacket and men's Edge Jacket. Bottom Line: Durable, functional, and made to move.-- K. B. (Dec 07) Price: $275 BUY ONLINE : Moosejaw.com
