Mountain Khakis Cottonwood Cords : Fancy Pants

Yup, we're still high on Mountain Khakis. This month we fell for MK's Cottonwood Cords.

Available in men's (pictured above right) and women's (pictured at left) sizes, these super soft, medium-wale cords are perfect for chilly fall (and winter) days. They feel like velvet and, thanks to a bit of Lycra, fit like my favorite broken-in jeans the minute I put them on. Except they feel roomier.

The women's straight-legged cords have an extra wide waistband with two button enclosures and a low-rise cut. Design- and fit-wise, it's a nice combination. They're low enough to be comfortable, but not so low that I feel exposed.

I like the carved-out pockets, which are more angular and distinctive than typical blue jeans pockets (the men's Cottonwood Cords have a more vertical pocket like you'd find on a pair of chino-style pants). I also like the large back pockets. I can actually use them since they have button-flap enclosures. I normally don't like button pockets, but these pockets are large enough that the flaps lie flat. (Another bonus: I think bigger back pockets make butts look smaller. If that's important to you.)

Finally, these pants are available in different lengths. I'm almost 6' tall, so I love it when I find companies that take the time to make a variety of fits.

The men's pant is available in three colors, chocolate, slate blue, and stone. The women's pants are available in chocolate, berry, and latte. I have the berry pants, and they are the most amazing red color, rich like wine. It's hard to find the right red pants, and I think MK's Cottonwood Cords are it for me.

Mountain Khakis is part of the "donate 1% to the planet" program.
