OR Vivid Vest : A Light Layer
It shouldn't matter what size I am, but it does. I admit it--I feel a little disappointed when I have to go up a size. That's why I love wearing Outdoor Research gear. Over the past few years their sizing has remained incredibly consistent. They've also done an impressive job of incorporating fashion into their women's apparel, without sacrificing quality. I've noticed that several pieces, including the Echo jacket (reviewed in a previous issue) and the new Vivid Vest, have a longer, leaner cut. I wish more companies would lengthen their outdoor tops and jackets. Nothing is more irritating than having a gap between my waistband and the bottom of my top. I need coverage! I've been wearing my Vivid Vest for the past couple of months on power walks and short hikes. It's the ideal layer when I need just a bit more warmth, but a fleece is too much. I also wear it for yoga as a warm-up top. The Vivid Vest is made out of a stretchy, moisture-wicking nylon. Because it's so lightweight and versatile, it's also a great travel piece. Bottom Line: Another hit for Outdoor Research. Available in sizes XS-L, in teak, slate, and black.--E. D. (March 07) Price: $65 Manufacturer's Site: www.orgear.com |
