PacSafe DaySafe : Keep Your Gear Near

When traveling through dodgy areas, you have two ways to safeguard your valuables: don't carry anything you can't bear to lose...or, wear a PacSafe DaySafe pack.

On the outside, the DaySafe looks like any other pack, with bottle holders on either side, a handy outer mesh pouch on the top of the pack, packing straps across the bottom of the pack for stowing a jacket, and padded straps (with sternum straps) complete with a zippered cell phone pouch.

Inside, there's a large pouch, a safe, if you will, for your valuables. Just drop in your camera, your wallet, your priceless jewelry, cinch up the cable lock around the top of the pouch, and lock the padlock. You can't see it, but there's metal webbing encased under the pouch fabric. Knife slashes won't break through the pouch, and if you need to leave your bag for a minute, you can lock it to a post (although, this isn't so smart these days with all the bomb scares---only use this option in a youth hostel or other appropriate setting).

Bottom LIne:   Personally, I'd rather risk getting robbed. But for people who would like the security of a lockable pack, this one seems like a good bet.

Price: $99.95.
