Princeton Tec's Fuel Headlamp is lightweight (less than 3 ounces) and simple to operate. It has four operating modes, and a large "on" button, so it's easy to adjust to the level of light needed. The fourth mode is a flashing signal light. The beam has a maximum range of 26 meters, and the lamp has a battery (it uses 3 AAA batteries) life of 160 hours. Pretty handy.
I love using this three-bulb LED headlamp because it's easy to operate and adjust with just one hand. The case is moveable, so I can change the direction of the beam without taking the lamp off of my head. Nice. I also like the compact size, which makes it easy to toss into a pocket for a late evening walk. I often use it at night to read when I can't sleep but don't want to get up and turn on the lights.
A great gift for campers, hikers, or anyone who plays (or reads) in the dark.
