Ryders Eyewear Jolt Sunglasses: They Change With the Weather
I have many pairs of glasses, and even more pairs of sunglasses. Different weather, different mood, different look, different function. I like to be prepared. As a rule, I'm not a fan of spending a lot on sunglasses because I always seem to lose the most expensive pairs. I'm also not always a fan of wrap-around styles because some fit too close to my face and my eyelashes brush against the lenses. With Ryder Eyewear's Jolt sunglasses, I seem to have found the fit I need at a price I like ($39). The Jolt sunglasses are designed for a small-to-medium fit, which works out really well for me because I have a smallish head and face. I'm sure there are men who'd find a good fit in these glasses, but I believe they were designed smaller to fit women's faces. I like the fit, which is enhanced by rubberized nose pads temple pads. I can shake my head and my glasses stay in place. Yet, they're not at all tight. I also like that the glasses have a nice curve that keeps the lenses out of my eyelash reach. No distractions there. These lightweight frames are simple, durable, and have a small "Ryders" logo on the left temple. The polycarbonate lenses provide 100% UV protection. If you'd like to upgrade, as I did, to sunglasses with more versatility, the Jolt is also available with photo chromic lenses. These glasses come in very handy in Seattle, where I live, because the sunlight often changes throughout the day. No worries; the lenses change with the sun, becoming darker as I need more protection. I like that they get dark enough that people can't see my eyes; sometimes when I'm out and about on a sunny day, I like to keep a bit of mystery about me. These lenses also provide 100% UV protection. Available in a variety of frame colors and lens colors/styles. Ryders Eyewear also makes similarly styled men's sunglasses. Bottom Line: I really like these glasses. They fit well without pinching. They're durable but not rigid. And they come in a sturdy, zippered carrying case.--E.D.
