Sporthill Ridge Shorts : Revisiting a Classic
About 14 years ago I got a pair of Sporthill running pants. You know the style--soft, thin cotton-like feel, tapered legs with fabric stirrups, not too tight, not too baggy. Basically, the most comfortable running "tights" ever. Years ago, I hacked off the legs of my favorite pants to make them into shorts. Now, Sporthill is back in my life with a new line specifically designed for spring and summer temperatures and activities. And the shorts come already cut! I love the low waist, thick waistband style (thank you, Sporthill!); my shorts are super comfortable when I'm power walking or lifting weights or practicing yoga. They're just the right length, giving me almost full thigh coverage without hitting my knees. Like the Sporthill "tights" I used to wear, these shorts hug my body without compressing my legs like cycling shorts do. I also love the soft-like-cotton stretchy fabric because my shorts move when I move. No binding, no chafing. Bonus. Other thoughtful details: a small velcro sealed pocket on one side for an i.d. and key, plus a hidden fold-over pocket for my fancy earrings if I need to take them off when I run past a gang of thiefs. Bottom Line: Everyone needs a pair of move-when-I-move workout shorts. Available in red rush, navy/mist, and carbon, sizes S-XL. E.D.
