Swany Walkin' Bag : Sleek, Sturdy, Stylin'
I used the Walkin' Bag on a recent business trip to Vancouver, BC and was impressed by how versatile and sturdy it is for such a small case (15h x 18w x 8d). I normally don't like wheeled cases because the handles are too short and the two small wheels on the bottom of the bag often don't provide a stable base when the bag is full, making it very uncomfortable to pull it behind me. Swany solves these problems by designing a bag with four smooth-rolling wheels (all pivot 360 degrees) and a retractable handle that extends to 37 inches high. Rather than pulling the bag, I can comfortably walk through airports and hotels with the bag at my side. That's one less bag straining my body. The company claims that you'll use 1/6 the effort to maneuver this bag, and I believe it. I found it much easier to handle that other cases I've used. The company also claims that the bag will support 188 pounds of weight. I didn't have time on my trip to sit on my bag, but I did try it when I got home and am happy to report that nothing happened with I used it as a stool for several minutes. The inside of the case looks like any other suitcase, with three removable zippered mesh pouches attached to the bottom of the bag with velcro strips. I use these for cosmetics, vitamins, medicine bottles, and other small items. I can pack a change of clothes, a pair of shoes, and a few other items in the main compartment. Quick-release garment straps hold them in place. On the inside of the top of the case, there's a mesh pouch for my lap top, which is also accessible from the outside of the case through a zippered opening inside a zippered file pocket (where I store my notebooks, day planner, and computer cords). The pouch is big enough to accommodate my PowerBook in its padded computer sleeve. I like that I can get at my computer without opening my suitcase. When you're not wheeling the case, you can carry it with either of the two handles (on different sides of the bag). Bottom Line: This bag is all you need for a weekend or business trip. It's stylish, easy to use, and gives your computer a safe place to rest.-- E.D.
