Tsubo Korph Shoe : All Day, Every Day

Tsubo is one of my favorite shoe companies.Their fun and functional urban sneakers are hip without ever being trendy or loud. They're simple and real, and their subtle designs make their shoes stand out for what they don't have - a lot of flashy nonsense. Instead, I get style and a unique shoe that goes well with casual and party wear.

The Korph an incredible urban shoe because it has a serious Vibram sole that's thick, stable, and provides excellent traction on wet pavement. The leather and suede uppers look like the type of shoe a European jewel heist team member might wear. A little spy, a hint of military sturdiness, and definitely built to allow one to run for one's life if necessary.

Since my days as an international burglar are over, I just enjoy my Korph shoes for daily wear. I can walk in the park, hang out at a museum all afternoon, walk to meet friends for dinner, then go dancing. Never have to (or want to) come home to change my shoes. Because they're so versatile , the Korph shoes are also ideal for travel. They keep my feet in good shape, and more important, make it harder for people to identify me as an American tourist.

I like how the lacing system is integrated into the design. The leather straps on each side of the upper are folded over at the top, creating wide leather loops. It's a nice look, and I like that there are no grommets or hooks to dig into the top of my feet.

Also love the roomy toe box and boxy cut. The shoe accommodates my wide foot (and my custom insole) with no problem.

Why wear tennies or hiking shoes in the city when you can look so much better?
