Tyr Nest Pro Goggles : Take Flight With Clear Eyes
I used to spend several hours after swimming getting concerned looks from people in the grocery store, at the gas station, and from well-meaning neighbors. The pink rings around my eyes weren't the worst of it--at least I couldn't see them--but I've been known to get ice cream-style headaches post-swim from cinching my goggles tight enough for a good seal. This isn't the case with Tyr's Nest Pro performance goggles. The first time I used them it took a little dexterity to loosen the straps when I wanted to adjust the goggles, but there were handy notches on the straps to let me know how much I had tightened them, a feature I haven't seen on a goggle before. With a few adjustments, the goggles and their soft gaskets kept out water so gently that I forgot I was wearing them and the silicon head strap felt secure without being too tight. Now, when I look in the mirror after getting out of the pool, all I see is the palest pink rings around my eyes, which vanish by the time I finish up in the locker room. The Nest Pro design was inspired by the architecture of the Beijing stadium (which resembles a bird's nest) for the 2008 Olympics. Bottom Line: The wide lenses have UV protection and anti-fog technology for a clear view to the wall at the Olympics, or the beckoning hot tub. --C.W.
