White Sierra Fern Pant : Trail Tough, Street Style
With fall creeping in, I'm glad I have my Fern pants. Even though I've been wearing them the past month, and have found them perfectly comfortable, I think I'll really appreciate the heavier weight fabric as the temps start dropping. These pants are made with just the right combination of fibers (55% Ramie and 45% Cotton); they feel soft and comfortable on my skin and still durable enough for the trail. I also like the design because I can wear these pants for casual situations, and paired with a nice top for some dresser occasions, too. Since I don't like the hassle of carrying a purse or bag, I really appreciate all the pockets (two front, two back with button closures, and a hidden zip pocket on the side of the left pant leg) for all of my personal items. I can carry a wallet, my car keys, some lip balm, and my cell phone in these well designed pockets (the seams are highlighted in orange stitching) that don't have a bulky appearance, even when in use. I've worn other cargo-style pants that have such baggy pockets that they detract from the pant's nice shape and style. I also like the exaggerated hem line, which is just another nice touch that enhances the style. Finally, my Fern pants are easy to care for (machine wash in a regular cycle with warm water; tumble dry on low heat). and have shown no signs of shrinkage or dye loss. Best of all, they are wrinkle-free and don't need any ironing. Bottom Line: These are well-designed pants that look great and are a good value.--F.P. (Oct.
