White Sierra Teton Trail Convertible Pant : Easy Come, Easy Go
I love taking off clothes as much as I love putting them on, especially when it's hot out. Of course, it's wise to start off a hike wearing a lightweight pants with UPF 30, but so nice to have the option to zip-off the pant legs when needed. Even better if the pant legs have ankle zips so I don't have to take off my boots. My White Sierra Teton Trail Convertible Pant (men's verion is called the "Trail Men's Pant.") also has plenty of pocket space for my many small essentials: two deep front pockets (half mesh for less builk inside the pant), a velcro-sealed back pocket, and two velcro-sealed cargo pockets (which are thoughtfully placeed at slight angles--rather than vertically aligned--for easy access). Naturally, the pants legs fit into the pockets for storage, so I don't have to remove my backpack. I like the relaxed fit and gussted crotch, which allows me to sit, stand, and scramble without bursting any seams. I also like that the back of the wasitband is elasticized. On my thinner days, I can use the belt that comes with the pants. Bottom Line: An all-round great pant for hiking, camping, and other outdoor pursuits--at a great price. Available in a variety of colors, and in men's sizes.--E.D. (July '06) Price: $45 Manufacturer's Site: www.whitesierra.com |
