Contourwear Chamois Pullover Zip Neck : Fleece-y, Silky, & Stretchy

When I was a kid, I fell in love with velour. Then it went out of fashion and I forgot all about it. (Ah, fickle youth.) Then I discovered Contourwear's Chamois Pullover Zip Neck, and all those happy memories of soft , thick velvety fabric came flooding back into my head.

Actually, comparing the ultra soft, stretchy, wicking, super fabric Contourwear uses in its Chamois Collection to velour isn't fair to either fabric. Velour was fun, but not so functional. My Chamois Pullover is tons of fun and totally functional. And it's hot. Semi-fitted and designed for both style and active pursuits, the Pullover is a shape-flattering top that can be a mid-layer under a shell or a top layer for spring days.

The fabric is so luxurious--soft, thinner than velour, with almost a slinky feel. I wore it for a week straight when I first got it. I couldn't stop rubbing my hands along the fleece-y sleeves. Love the thumb loops, which I've decided should be essential on all sports tops. Love the discreet, zippered tummy pocket (like the hand warmer pockets on those old beefy hooded cotton sweatshirts I wore in high school--but sleek) and chest pocket. And love the bright green color (also available in white, black, and grey).

When it's cold out (or in -- I live in a drafty building) I keep this top on for days in a row, only taking it off for infrequent washings. I keep forgetting it's a performance top -- it feels like a fancy, fitted, pajama top.
