Wacoal Contour Wire Bra : An Amazing Multitasker
Bras that promise to do it all usually deliver one thing only: Discomfort. That's why I have a sports bra, an I-feel-sexy bra, a strapless dress bra, an eighteen-hour-flight bra, and so on. So I admit I was skeptical of Wacoal's Contour Wire Bra, which offers no fewer than five strap configurations designed to complement an endless variety of wardrobe requirements. One bra to do everything short of trail running? To my astonishment, yes. This shapely, sexy, curve-enhancing little number delivers lift and support, yet it's comfy enough for all-day wear. The underwire feels reassuring, not razor-sharp. The pretty satin straps rest snug on my shoulders instead of breaking away down my arms. The molded cups maintain a smooth profile beneath clingy knits and synthetics, minimizing unattractive outlining effects. And thanks to the especially slender bridge between the cups, plunging necklines never exposed this bra. In fact, there doesn't seem to be a neckline this bra can't hide beneath. The straps adjust from regular spacing in the back to "close set" by hooking the strap ends into a separate set of loops. Or I can rig the straps to cross in the back--perfect for my shoulder-baring, halter-style dress. The bra also comes with a separate set of transparent straps that work in all the same positions the satin ones do. Should they peek out beyond the armhole of a tank top, those clear straps are almost impossible to detect. That's smart. And supportive. Yet sexy. Available in sizes 32-38, B-DD. Colors: black, nude, chestnut. Bottom Line: An ultra-comfortable yet figure-flattering bra that manages to be all things to all outfits. -- K.B. (May 08) Price : $48 |
