Nau Confidant Short : Wool on the Wall

It's finally warm these days in Colorado, so I've been getting back in shape for the climbing season. So when Nau's Confidant wool shorts arrived recently, I was thrilled. What better time to start testing out these highly breathable wool shorts?

I love the length; they're perfect for a huge variety of outdoor pursuits -- and for me, that means trad climbing, sport climbing, bouldering, and climbing into my seat at the local burrito joint. I love these shorts because when I put a harness on, they don't ride up to my butt. But at the same time, when I don't have a harness on, they don't look like a pair of poorly fitting capri-style pants.

Then there's the elastic-free waist, which I'm a huge fan of. When I wear the shorts under a harness or a backpack hip belt, they don't bunch up or chafe. The gusseted inseam provides a ton of freedom of motion when I'm on the rock.

The Confidant is one of the most breathable pair of shorts I own, too, thanks to the wool fabric. Wool is a classic, time-tested material that's highly breathable, quick drying and odor resistant. Prefect for an athletic, do-everything pair of shorts.

Aside from the awesome design, style, and functionality of the Confidant Shorts, I'm really excited about Nau itself. The company is a corporate role model, and its entire business is based around sustainability -- environmental and economic. Its employees are paid well, its fabrics are all made from green materials, and it gives back heavily to social and environmental non-profit organizations. Nau is a company I'm psyched to give my business to.
